Microsoft Windows 8 coming in 2012

Now it is official — Microsoft Windows 8 is going to be released in 2012. At Microsoft Developer Forum in Tokyo Microsoft’s CEO Steve Ballmer said Microsoft is “obviously hard at work on the next version of Windows, which will come out next year.”
As for upcoming features, he mentioned that the upcoming Windows will have some kind of voice-recognition and gesture-recognition system.
Microsoft’s dream is to see people interacting with their personal computers using voice and gestures. Ballmer said, “Today on a PC, it’s file open, blah, blah, blah, respond, reply, forward. I can’t just say to my device, get me ready for my trip to Tokyo,” Ballmer said. ” We ought to make it so that the search engines, and the user interface of the device can take actions on our behalf.”
So we can expect some kind of “natural user interface” on Windows 8.
He also mentioned that Microsoft will announce couple of other products for different hardware like tablets, smartphones, etc.
“As we progress through the year, you ought to expect to hear a lot about Windows 8. Windows 8 slates, tablets, PCs, a variety of different form factors,” he said.
