Handheld devices have come a long way, but one thing that is still missing is 1080p quality playback capability. And that’s what ZiiLABS’s newest ZMS-08 processor is all about. The chip integrates ARM’s Cortex-A8 processor (1GHz) and a H.264 decoding unit to provide incredible quality performance to handheld devices such as PMPs, MIDs, and UMPCs.
The chip also features 256KB of L2 cache, 1GB of addressable RAM, and dual USB 2.0 OTG controllers with PHY and ULPI interfaces.
The ZiiLABS ZMS-08 processor will be shipped beginning first quarter of 2010.
