Qualcomm 28nm Snapdragon dual-core processor coming in 2011

We have heard about Qualcomm’s plan of releasing a dual-core processor. At the company’s analyst meeting in New York on Wednesday, the firm officially revealed details regarding its first Snapdragon dual-core processor. Reportedly, the dual-core chip is based on 28nm fabrication processor and will come in 2011. Interesting thing about this chip is that it boast of 5x performance while lowering power consumption by 75%.
The new Snapdragon chipset (MSM8960) will feature two cores using an upgraded CPU core based on a new micro-architecture.
The chip further supports FM, WLAN, GPS, Bluetooth, 3G, and LTE multi-mode modem. Furthermore, the chip boast of 4x graphics capabilities.
The chip is expected to smartphones and tablets that will appear in late 2011.
