Imagine ordering something from one of the most reputed online shop that later on turns out to be fake. Disappointing? Well, that’s what happened to few customers who placed their orders for Intel Core i7-920 quad core processors on Newegg.com. Reportedly, Newegg goofed up with one of its long-term partners that resulted in several customers who ordered Intel Core i7 processors receiving what it calls “Demo Boxes”.

We cannot tell you whether its a genuine error or not but people who received these so-called “Demo-Boxes” are having nightmares as after paying $290 they got a completely non-functional dummy of the processor, heatsink fan, and the instruction leaflet.
Wondering what does Newegg has to say on this one?
“Our customer service team has already begun proactively reaching out to the affected customers. In line with our commitment to ensure total customer satisfaction we are doing everything in our power to resolve the issue as soon as possible and with the least amount of inconvenience to our customers.”
