Word on internet has it Intel will unveil its upcoming 32nm “Cedar Trail” platform for desktops/nettops and netbooks in the fourth quarter of this year. The Intel Atom N2600 and Atom N2800 are designed for netbooks, while the Atom D2500 and D2700 are designed for nettops and desktops. Intel Cedar Trail runs 32nm Intel Atom Cedarview processor, and supports Microsoft DirectX 10.1, Blu-ray playback and dual-display output.
The Atom N2800 is a dual-core processor with a clock speed of 1.86GHz. What is interesting is that it comes integrated with Intel GMA 5650 graphics with a clock speed of 640MHz. The chip support 1066MHz DDR3 memory and has a TDP of 6.5W.
On the other hand the Atom N2600 is a little less powerful. It is also a dual-core CPU but with a clock speed of 1.6GHz. It comes with an Intel GMA 3600 integrated graphics clocked at 400MHz and support DDR3-800 memory. It has a lower TDP of only 3.5W.
The Atom D2500 and D2700 are also dual-core CPUs with 1MB L2 cache, and integrate DDR3 memory controller. The Atom D2700 is the powerful of two with clock speed of 2.13GHz, while the less power Atom D2500 feature 1.86GHz speed.
All of them are expected to come in the fourth quarter.
