Intel Atom costs only $6 but will sell for $29
Intel's latest processor series for general computing is going to prove cash cow for the world's largest chip maker. According to TGDaily, the Atom processor, which will probably replace Pentium series, is made at a cost of only $6 -- including production, packaging and shipping cost; but will retail for anywhere between $29 and $49, depending upon specification. On the upper end, Intel will be able to make at least $40 per chip, which will certainly improve profit margin on Intel's balance sheet.[Via TGDaily]
