AMD Puma Notebook Platform Released

amd_logo2.jpg AMD today announced its next-generation notebook platform. The Puma features new AMD Turion X2 Ultra dual-core mobile processors with ATI Radeon HD 3000 series graphics and industry-leading wireless (802.11 draft n and 3G) for greater throughput and range. AMD said that this next-generation platform also serves as the foundation for new AMD Business Class, AMD GAME! and AMD LIVE! notebook solutions.

The new Turion X2 Ultra chip includes couple of enhancements such as AMD Independent Dynamic Core Technology, a new mobile-optimized memory controller, and power-optimized HyperTransport 3.0. The platform can be customized with ATI Mobility Radeon 3400, 3600, or the latest 3800 Series. As for security, it features Trusted Platform Module and Enhanced Virus Protection.

Systems based on the next-generation AMD notebook platform are now available from OEM customers.
