AMD M690 chipset now available

amd_logo.jpgAdvanced Micro Devices has unveiled their new product for use in laptops, the M690 chipset. It includes AMD Turion 64 X2 dual-core mobile technology and an integrated ATI Radeon X1200 series graphics processor. It promises better graphics and connectivity performance, and increased energy efficiency for extended battery life. The firm uses new Display Cache technology that allows the processor to operate in low-power mode without accessing system memory for the much needed battery life. The chipset also supports ATI Avivo technology and HDMI.

It includes 800MHz HyperTransport interface speeds, display cache (128MB), 1X16 slot for graphics expansion, 2048x1536 max resolution, DirectX 9.0 support, and 10 USB 2.0 ports.
