AMD Athlon II X2 240 and 245 processors introduced

amd_athlon-x2.jpg Advanced Micro Devices today came out with two new processors under Athlon brand. The newest Athlon chips are dual core processors costing less than $67, making them very much affordable for use in mainstream PCs. AMD reports, with the new Athlon II X2 245 and 240 processors, system builders and PC OEMs can better address the industry’s need to provide affordable, powerful and energy efficient desktop PCs that help consumers quickly and easily create, enjoy and share their digital world.

Both of them are manufactured using 45nm fabrication technology, and features clock speeds of 2.8GHz (X2 240) and 2.9GHz (X2 245).

They also include 2MB of L2 cache, 65W TDP, and 4000MHz HyperTransport speed.
