AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ and Athlon 64 4000+ to be launched soon
Advanced Micro Devices is planning to launch new single and dual core processors in the next quarter. The dual core Athlon will be clocked at 3GHz and contains 2MB of L2 cache and consumes approximately 89W of power. The main specifications of single core Athlon is not available but it seems that it will be clocked at 2.6GHz and will contain 512KB of L2 cache. According to source, AMD is expected to launch 65nm versions of the current Athlon 64 X2 5200+ and 5400+ early next year, and the 5600+ in Q3 2007. In addition, there won't be any change in Athlon 64 FX series until Q2 2007. At the same time the FX-76 will be available, probably at 3.2GHz.
