AMD 6-core Thuban processor for desktops coming in Q2 2010

amd_logo2.jpg Though these days Intel's Core i7 processor is ruling the market for high-end computer systems, AMD plans to score a point on Intel by launching a size core processor, called Thuban, in the second quarter of next calender year.

Reportedly, the AMD Thuban will feature six 45nm processing cores, and will provide support for DDR3 1333 and 6MB cache.

It'll even fit in AM3 motherboard.

No word on core clock speed, but it should be sufficient high to provide enthusiasts with good performance.
