• Intel developed Light Peak tech with the help of Apple

According to some insider news it was actually Apple behind Intel’s superfast Light Peak technology. In fact Apple only brought the concept to Intel and asked them to create it. Thanks to this new technology data can be transfered at an incredible high speed of 10Gpbs full duplex over cables as long as 100 meters. Also, a single Light Peak connection is able to replace all kind of connectivity options including USB, Gigabit Ethernet, FireWire, DVI, eSATA, etc.

A single cable for everything, too good no?
And as Apple actually thought of this concept and helped Intel develop it it wouldn’t be unjustified to assume it would be Cupertino based computer major who’ll be unveiling a product based on Light Peak first in 2010.
