Google “Stars” for keeping track of favorite search result

Ever felt the need to memorize certain search results so that next time you search for that particular keyword you can directly identify the site that contains the most appropriate content? Well, Google now has a solution to your problem. Reportedly, the search giant has introduced a new search function which lets users star their results making it easier to find their favourite sites in future searches. The yellow stars – appearing alongside every search return – can be selected and will highlight any future searches without affecting their organic Google ranking.
For example, a Manchester United fan could star the club’s official homepage and any future football related searches will highlight his team but without artificially upping its place in the Google rankings.
Starred items are synchronised with the Google Toolbar, which acts as a hub to manage the stars just like other bookmarks.
Cedric Dupont, Google’s product manager, said: “The great thing about stars is that you don’t have to keep track of them. You don’t even have to remember whether or not you starred something. Simply perform a search and you’ll rediscover your starred items right when you need them.”
