LG Super Multi Blue and GGW-H10N – most awaited dual format players
LG Electronic today released their first dual format player that has the capability to play and record Blu-ray and HD DVD discs. The Super Multi Blue drive is compatible with Blu-ray Disc, DVD, CD read/write and HD-DVD-ROM (read), offering consumers with the most universal unit available. The GGW-H10N is compatible with both Blu-ray Discs and HD-DVD formats and has a 4x recording speed of Blu-ray Discs, which means that it takes only 23-24 minutes to burn a full single layer BD-R disc (25GB), compared with 46-47 minutes for conventional 2x recording. It will be available in the first quarter of 2007 and will cost you less than $1200. The Super Multi Blue (BH-100) features Optical Pickup technology which is a device that reads and stores data by converting the code of the light reflected by an optical disc to electric code. It provides a new level of security by offering Password Encryption, Disc Creator Authentication, Integrity Checker, and Data Insurance features. It’s expected to be available in early 2007. In addition to this, LG introduced a lot of internal and external DVD drive.
