Wyse V class LE thin computer and X90, X90e thin notebooks

Wyse has updated their thin client portfolio with three new products, the V class LE thin desktop, and X90 and X90e thin notebooks. The "thin client" means a machine which doesn't store data on a local hard drive and exchanges data with servers. It uses a small OS that provides the functionality to securely connect to servers and display applications for workers. Many companies uses thin clients as they lowers IT costs, reduces energy consumption, and is better for the environment. According to the firm both the 12.1-inch notebook models are the first mobile thin clients to offer multimedia video playback, integrated Bluetooth 2.0 and built-in smart card support.

Based on 1.2GHz VIA C7-M ultra low voltage processor, both of them provides 512MB of flash, 512MB of RAM, Ethernet, USB, 802.11b/g wireless, optional 3G wireless, and Windows XPe. They are now available for $600 (X90) and $679 (X90e).

The Wyse V class LE thin computer is powered by 1.2Ghz VIA Eden C7 processor and comes with standard built-in support for VMware Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), Citrix Application Delivery and Microsoft Windows Terminal Server software. It features 128MB Flash, 128MB DDR2 RAM, DVI-I video, support for two displays, serial, parallel and USB expansion ports, and Windows CE 5.0 / Linux / Windows XP embedded operating system. Its now available with a starting price of $479.
