• Toshiba working on a netbook

The latest company to go ga-ga over netbooks is Toshiba. Reportedly, the Japanese giant is so impressed with this new “mini-laptop” segment that it too wants to get into this already competitive netbook segment. But what differentiates Tosh’s machine from other machines is its size — Toshiba’s netbook will offer a 5.6-inch touchscreen. It’ll be powered by Intel’s Atom processor, and will offer 64gig SSD, GPS, and Windows Vista. Too much power for a small machine, no? What I am wondering is that its specs are so powerful that it actually falls into UMPC category, but then why Tosh is saying that its a netbook with typical-netbook pricing. Such kinda specs don’t come cheap, or do they? Only time will tell.
