Toshiba Qosmio G55, X305 and F55 introduced

toshiba_qosmio-x305.png Toshiba today introduced three new flagship models in its Qosmio series for people who want to enjoy gaming and multimedia. Each Qosmio sports a new chassis design and Fusion finish, Feathertouch multimedia buttons, a flush-mounted Touchpad, a high-speed eSATA port and Harman Kardon high-fidelity bass reflex speakers with a built-in sub-woofer. The Qosmio G55 is the most interesting of the lot featuring a parallel media co-processor for fast video rendering. The "revolutionary" Cell processor is co-developed by Toshiba, Sony and IBM, and is the same chip that is being used in Sony PlayStation 3. According to the firm, the TOSHIBA Quad Core HD Processor provides "more power than ever to control and create personal movie projects with unmatched speed and efficiency."

So how fast is the latest media processor? Well, as per Toshiba's estimate a 10-minute video that takes an hour or more to transcode using a high performance processor can be transcoded 10x faster by offloading that work from the CPU to the Toshiba Quad Core HD Processor. Not much is known about this machine except that it offers 500GB hard drive, NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT graphics (512MB DDR3 graphics memory) and 18.4-inch widescreen TruBrite high-definition display sporting a true 16:9 aspect ratio that’s perfect for serious filmmakers.

The Qosmio X305 is a gaming rig boasting awesome design and latest NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX GPU (up to 1GB VRAM). The laptop provides 17-inch widescreen HD display (1680 x 1050 WSXGA+ resolution), Intel Core 2 Extreme dual core processor, dual hard drives with up to 400GB storage, 4GB DDR3 memory, and Harman Kardon stereo speakers with sub-woofer.

The Qosmio F55 is a nice 15.4-inch machine with NVIDIA GeForce 9700 GTS graphics. It is Toshiba’s first laptop with a built-in GPS receiver and Garmin mapping software.

All three of them will be available later this summer.
