As expected, Sony launched the new P-series netbook on the first day of CES 2009. True to its name, the P-series
Pocket netbook is extremely portable, and true to its family is extremely stylish. At slightly larger than an office letter envelope, the VAIO P weighs less than 640g yet sports a full keyboard, a high resolution (1600 x 768) 8-inch X-Black LCD screen with power efficient LED backlight and mobile broadband thanks to Everywair WWAN and 3G connectivity. The netbook would be a great buy for mobile professionals who can benefit from this stylish yet powerful netbook's computing capabilities because though its only 8incher it packs powerful components such as 1.6GHz processor, 128GB superfast SSD, an integrated webcam, GPS and 2GB of RAM.
Available in high gloss piano finish, choose from red, dark green, black or white with matching cases and Bluetooth mice.
Another interesting thing about this machine is that it not only offers typical Windows Vista start-up but also lets user access the Internet and other key functions using the XMB (XrossMediaBar) at the touch of a button. The XMB user interface, now familiar in PSP and in the latest BRAVIA TVs, is perfect for a quick browse on the web, instant messaging, music playback, etc.
The VAIO P range will be available in the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Russia from February 2009.
