Pixel Qi promises $75 laptop

olpc.jpg Pixel Qi, a spin-off from One Laptop Per Child project, has promised a $75 laptop. The chief technology officer of One Laptop Per Child, Mary Lou Jepsen, is the head of this latest venture which is working on reducing the prices for next-generation hardware by allowing multiple uses of the key technology advances. Pixel Qi is also aiming to bring sunlight readable, low-cost and low-power screens into mainstream laptops, cellphones and digital cameras.

Pixel Qi will give OLPC products at cost, while also selling the sub-systems and devices at a profit for commercial use.
