Panasonic Toughbook 53 14-inch semi-rugged notebook launched

Panasonic today rolled out a new semi-rugged notebook in the form of Toughbook 53. The 14” machine is powered by a second generation Intel i5 or i3 processor and is designed to survive 30” drops on six faces. Furthermore, it features a spill-resistant keyboard and passes nine MIL-STD-810G tests.
Features include a 14-inch high definition LED display and optional 2-800 nit sunlight-viewable Panasonic CircuLumin touchscreen plus an adjustable backlit emissive keyboard.
Specification include up to 8GB DDR3 -1333MHz memory, 128GB SSD, 1.3MP webcam, SmartCard reader, and Fingerprint reader.
The Toughbook 53 also provide multi-gesture touchpad, USB 3.0, VGA, HDMI, an SDXC slot, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, Gobi2000 3G, optional 4G LTE mobile broadband, and 10 hours of battery life.
The Toughbook 53 i5 model will ship in June for $1,899; the touchscreen version will ship in July for $2,449; and Core i3 model will ship in August at $1,599.
