OLPC's XO to offer Intel Processor

According to the representatives from Intel and One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) discussions are underway to pack Intel processor in XO laptop. Based on x86-architecture chip, the XO machine currently features 433MHz Geode LX-700 processor from Advanced Micro Devices. But Intel has confirmed that its engineers are developing a motherboard based on one of its chips for an OLPC laptop.
If everything falls into place then future OLPC notebooks will feature Intel Celeron M A100/A110 or Silverthorne processor. Silverthorne is an upcoming model designed for small, mobile computers. Even if XOs are offered with an Intel processor the OLPC group won't stop using AMD's chips. They are also looking at Xscale processors from Marvell Technology. William Bender, president of the OLPC project said, "I can imagine there will be a family of laptops in terms of processor power and maybe there will be a larger form factor for older kids."
