The Lenovo 3000 Y Series Y410 and Y410a laptops are the first one to boost face recognition technology — it scans user’s facial features and matches them with the images from the notebook’s database, so that owner can get in without entering password and the unauthorized person stays out. And in case you went for coffee with the laptop on and someone tries to play with your system, the Y series notebooks will record the visitor’s face in real time with their visitor tracking function so the user will be aware of this access. The Santa Rosa based lappies comes with Media Shuttle Center that allows you to play music without booting the PC, 5.1 surround sound with two speakers and a subwoofer, and a remote control.
Both of them features Core 2 Duo T5250 (1.5GHz) or T7100 (1.8GHz) processor, 1GB RAM, 160GB hard drive, dual layer DVD burner, 1.3 mega pixel webcam, 1280×800 resolution, GMA X3100 or Nvidia Geforce NB8M-GS, a/b/g wireless, Bluetooth, and Vista. They are now available with price ranging from $1020 to $1150.
