If you are a kind of person who can't take care of their laptop properly, then Kontron's new rugged laptop is specially designed for you that can survive a 3-foot drop onto solid concrete. The high-end model is certified for low electromagnetic radiation output, and ATEX (atmospheric explosives) "for use in areas where the slightest spark could prove deadly." Based on a 1.66GHz Intel Core Duo T2300 processor, the laptop packs up to 2GB of RAM, a 12.1-inch or 14.1-inch touchscreen LCD, and removable 80 GB / 120GB SATA hard drives. It also includes twin PCMCIA slots, gigabit Ethernet, FireWire, VGA output, and a lot of connectivity options that include UMTS, GSM, GPRS, GPS, WiFi, and Bluetooth. The rugged laptop will be available from next month.
