Vietnamese students can now get their own version of cheap OLPC / Eee PC. The low-cost laptop, which could give some competition to OLPC, is based on Intel's Classmate PC design and supports modified version of Linux. The 7-inch portable computer features WVGA (800 x 480) LCD display, ultra-low power 900MHz Celeron processor with a 400MHz FSB, 256MB of RAM, 1GB of flash storage, and 802.11b/g wireless. It weighs 2.9-pound and measures 9.6 x 7.7 x 1.7 inches.

Hacao's Classmate PC is now available pre-installed with Hacao Linux 2.16 Professional at a cost of $250. The machine can also be bought by regular users for $340. And if you're a Windows addicted, then you'll have to shell out $38 more for Windows XP.
