HP to announce new Pavilion laptops

Just as we got word on updation of Compaq Presario series, Notebook Italia claims HP is also thinking of updating Pavilion series with dv2600 (pictured above), dv6600, dv9600, tx1300, dx6600, and hdx9100 laptops. The site claims Hewlett-Packard will hold a press conference on 18 September (thats tomorrow) to announce its new babies. Unlike the Compaq Presario update which was targeted towards budget users, the addition in Pavilion series are aimed at media users who doesn't mind shelling high bucks. The Pavilion dv6600 (15.4") and dv9600 (17") are star attraction of the lot with Santa Rosa, HD DVD drive, dedicated Nvidia graphics, and 250GB / 500GB (dv9600) storage. Both of them can be configured with Intel Core 2 Duo / Core Duo / Celeron or AMD Turion / Athlon processor, up to 4GB RAM, a/b/g/n wireless, Bluetooth, webcam, TV Tuner, HDMI, and Vista.
The specification for Santa Rosa based 14.1" dv2600 remain same except dual layer DVD burner, and option of only Intel chips. Actually its an ergonomically designed special edition notebook with "Verve Imprint" finish. Its design takes inspiration from the “fluidity of the life.” The 12.1-inch Pavilion tx1300 ultraportable tablet is AMD only machine with Turion processor, 2GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce Go 6150 graphics and same other specs as dv2600.
