HP Pavilion dv4, dv5 and dv7 Entertainment Notebooks

Hewlett-Packard recently released couple of new notebook computers including the latest Pavilion dv4, dv5, and dv7 laptops. All three of them are designed for media geeks with couple of new entertainment features such as invisible “magic chrome” controls that light up and become fully interactive upon power up, and intuitive, one-click access to high-definition TV, photos, movies and music from nearly any location through HP QuickPlay.
One of the most interesting feature of this series is the HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection to protect the hard drive in case of accidental fall. The ProtectSmart automatically detects if a notebook has been dropped and, while the notebook is on its journey to the floor, automatically stops the hard drive from spinning, helping to prevent the loss of files and data. The series also offers consumers the option of a high-speed eSATA interface for backing up data to external storage drives.
The dv4 is a 14.1-inch lightweight laptop with Intel Core 2 Duo / AMD processor, 4GB RAM, 320GB HDD, webcam, integrated TV tuner, Blu-ray optical drive, wireless, fingerprint reader, and Vista.
The 15.4″ dv5 is a similarly specced machine except for an NVIDIA graphics card. The 17-incher dv7 also offers almost same specification except for 640GB HDD.
The dv4, dv5, and dv7 starts at $1,199, $1,199, and $1,599 respectively. All of them will be available from this month.
