We know HP is gonna come out with
something unusual, but we don't know what it is. In effect we don't even know for sure what's the "
really crazy new computing product". But according to new reports, HP is going to showcase a concept notebook computer with multi-touch trackpad with unusual keyboard design, dual displays, and "enough gaming muscle to tear through Far Cry 2 without a flinch." The 17-inch Firefly prototype features a multi-touch trackpad at lower right-hand side of keyboard, instead of tradition lower-center position. HP believes this new position would be much more comfortable than normal position, but I doubt lefties will find it comfy.
The 13 pound beast also sports a secondary 4.3-inch LCD (800x600 res), in addition to primary 17-inch widescreen display (1920 x 1200). This dwarf display acts as a second monitor at all times, so you can easily drag any window or application right onto it.
Other features include 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Extreme Quad Core CPU, 4GB of RAM, 2x ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3870 GPUs running in CrossFire mode, a 7,200 rpm 250GB hard drive (upgradeable), and night-vision webcam.
