Yesterday we’d told you that HP is all set to launch new Envy series notebook computers on Tuesday. And guess what, HP indeed launched Envy 13 and Envy 15 laptops this morning. As one can guess from naming of the series, the Envy line up is designed to make everyone envy of its owner. And going by pictures of these two babies, we wouldn’t disagree. Both are gorgeous machines boasting brushed aluminum shells. Interesting thing about these machines is that both are ultra-thin laptops measuring under an inch thick. But of course in order to maintain its thinness it lacks an integrated DVD drive.
The Envy lappies directly compete with MacBook Air / Pro and Dell Adamo.
The 13-inch Envy 13 is a light weight, ultra-thin laptop measuring only 0.8-inch thick. It features Core 2 Duo low voltage processor (1.8GHz), up to 5GB RAM, 250GB hard drive, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 graphics, up to 18hrs runtime with extended battery, VGA webcam, and Windows Vista.
On the other hand the Envy 15 is a 15incher powered by powerful Intel Core i7 processor. It features up to 16GB of DDR3 memory, 15.6″ LED backlit display, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4830 graphics (1GB memory), two SSDs, and Windows Vista.
The Envy 13 is prices at $1,699, while the Envy 15 costs $1,799.
Both of them will be available in the United States on Oct. 18.
