The latest addition in HP's Compaq Presario line up is the CQ Series with CQ40, CQ45, and CQ50 laptops. According to the firm, the new series is designed for those on the go, with a new industrial design and HP Imprint 2 surface finish. As usual the addition in Compaq series are simple machines with decent configuration, which is more than enough if you're looking for a relatively cheaper laptop with nice looks and decent technical specification.

The CQ50 is a 15.4-inch laptop based on AMD Sempron / Athlon processor. It comes equipped with 2GB DDR2 RAM, 250GB hard drive (5,400rpm), NVIDIA GeForce 8200M G graphics card, webcam, DVD burner, 802.11b/g wireless, 5-in-1 media card reader, and Vista.

The CQ50 will go on sale later in June, with a starting price of $499 while the pricing and availability of Compaq Presario CQ45 and CQ40 series varies by region.
