hp_compaq-mini-700-1.jpg Netbooks are getting a good foothold in the market, and all the firms know it very well. Though the world's number one computer manufacturer was pretty late in the netbook game, it believes it can still reach the numero uno status in the netbook segment. To fulfill its dream HP entered the market with 2133 Mini-Note PC. Then came the HP Mini 1000. And now, if word on the web is to be believed then Hewlett-Packard is all set to unveil a new mini-laptop, the Compaq Mini 700.

Basically its a 1Kg machine featuring a 10.2-inch WSVGA display with flush glass panel (1024 x 600, 16:10 ratio). The netbook is powered by an Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor and offers a 60GB hard drive or the option of an 8GB or 16GB Solid State Drive.

In addition, the Compaq Mini 700 sports a webcam, media card reader, Wireless and Bluetooth connectivity and optional WWAN.

The Compaq Mini 700 will hit market sometime in December for an estimated starting price of $477.
