Google has launched company’s popular Nexus 7 into the Android dominated Japanese market on Tuesday 25th Sept at an event in Tokyo. It will be stepping up competition to Japanese hardware makers’ Android offerings. Google Nexus 7 comes only in one flavour – 16GB, 1.3GHz quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, 1GB of RAM, a front-facing camera for video chat, and the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
Lets see whether this will have any effect on global tablet market is dominated by Apple with its high-end iPads, which is accounted to be 70%. It may also have to contend with another tablet expected to be unveiled next month, the much talked about iPad Mini. Other notable players in the tablet arena include Amazon’s Kindle line, Barnes & Noble’s Nook, and Samsung’s Galaxy Tab.
Google Nexus will be available starting October 2 for 19600 yen ($250).
