Gigabyte launches U60 UMPC and five laptops

Gigabyte has introduced a ultra mobile portable computer and five notebooks based on Intel Santa Rosa platform at CeBit 2007. The U60 UMPC (720g) is based on VIA C7-M processor and offers a 6.5-inch TFT LCD display, full PC capabilities, Wi-Fi, sliding QWERTY keyboard, uncompromising Internet access, anytime connectivity, and the ability to recognize and adapt to its environment virtually anytime and anywhere. All the laptops are based on Intel Merom specific mobile platform and sports Vista and eight hour battery life. The 12.1-inch W251U ultraportable features a built-in webcam, magnesium alloy chassis, and a dual array microphone.

The 14.1-inch W466U and W468N provides 1.3 megapixel webcam, a new card slot, 4-in-1 card reader, four USB 2.0 ports, one IEEE 1394, TV-out and a D-sub connector for video-out. Moreover, the W468N includes Nvidia NB8P -256MB chipset and the Santa Rosa platform, fingerprint scanner and new “Robson” technology for quick access boot-up. The 15.4-inch W566N sports the same chipset along with Dual-Heatpipe cooling which cools down your system fast and effectively. The 17-inch W756N is a gaming baby with 1GB worth of graphics cards in SLI.
