
According to a news report Getac will unveil a new ultralight notebook computer at CeBIT 2008 trade show. The 8212 is a 12.1-inch "rugged" laptop weighting only 1.2Kg. The company claims that the notebook is durable enough for every day use, and is spill, drop and shock resistant. Getac’s first entry into the durable market, the 8212 durable notebook, also boasts advanced security via a finger print reader and extended battery life among other features. The firm plans to showcase their new notebook at CeBIT in a week's time.
Also at the display will be Getac's E100, B300 and PS535E. The former two are rugged notebooks boasting several security features, while the last one is a fully-rugged GPS personal navigation device.
