Gateway launches new laptops, desktops for students

Gateway today released couple of new laptops and desktops for back-to-school market. The new laptops aren’t too powerful, so no luck if you’re too much into gaming. But if your use is restricted to work and studies then do give it a second thought. The Gateway M-6848 ($800) comes with an Intel Core 2 Duo T5750 processor, 4GB of DDR2 SDRAM, a 250GB hard drive, 802.11a/b/g wireless, dual layer DVD burner, and Vista Home Premium. The other newly launched model is T-6836 with Pacific Blue color and same specification. It also retails for $800.
Gateway today added a new model in its gaming desktop FX line up. The newest model FX4710 is a complete powerhouse with quad core Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 processor, 6gigs of RAM, over-clocked NVIDIA GeForce 9800GT graphics, and Windows Vista Home Premium. The FX4710 is available for $1,150.
Addition in its mainstream DX line include the DX4710 and DX4200. The DX4710 is powered by an Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q6600, and offers 6GB RAM. It retails for $1000 with two-year warranty and a Gateway 22-inch widescreen high-def LCD. On the other hand, the $750 DX4200 features an AMD Phenom 9500 Quad-Core processor, 6GB of memory, and ATI Radeon HD 3450 graphics card.
All these machines look expensive, right? Don’t worry if you’re tight on budget as Gateway also has something for budget conscious people. The new GT5692 ($550) and GT5694 ($650) feature an AMD Triple-Core or Quad-Core processor, 4GB of memory, ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics and Vista Home Premium.
