• GammaTech Durabook R13C rugged convertible laptop released

  • GammaTech has introduced a new rugged laptop in the form of Durabook R13C. What is interesting about this machine is that it boast of magnesium alloy casing (20 times stronger than ABS plastic) and a multi-touch swivel display, making it a perfect mobile computer for field work.The 13.3″ rugged lappie boast of Military Standard 810G certification for drop, shock, and spill protection. In addition, it can handle explosive atmosphere, salt, and fog.

    Specification include Intel Core i7-620LM processor, up to 8GB of RAM, a 2.5-inch SATA hard drive or SSD, a 13.3-inch multi-touch display (1280*800 pixels, 1000 nits brightness), Intel GMA HD graphics, and an ultra-slim DVD burner.

    Furthermore, it provides WiFi, Bluetooth, 3G, GPS, SIM card slot, SD card slot, 2 USB ports, fingerprint reader, smart card reader, stylus, water-resistant backlit keyboard, and 9-cell battery.

    Operating system is Windows 7.

    No word on pricing and availability.
