Freescale Smartbook concept unveiled
There's no dearth of portable computing machine for use on road. But smart innovations are always welcome, no? Freescale Semiconductor recently introduced its very own portable computing device, dubbed as Smartbook, to take on popular netbooks. The Freescale device is in conceptual stage so no idea on when you can get your hands on it, if it ever hit the market. But from looks of it, its really different. For once, the smartbook is cloud-computing-centric and characterized by all-day battery life, instant-on functionality and persistent connectivity. Instead on traditional Atom processor, it makes use of ARM technology based processors such as Freescale’s i.MX515. Other interesting features include a large touchscreen panel, and a folding keyboard.
