Dell Studio Series Unveiled
The Studio is Dell's latest notebook line up, bridging gap between Dell's signature XPS series and budget Inspiron line up. The Dell Studio is a stylish laptop series designed for fashion conscious consumers who doesn't mind paying little high price in exchange of stylish design that could make them cool in their inner circle. The Studio will have to compete against Sony's Vaio, which is a real difficult task considering Vaio has a huge fan following due to its chick design.
Specification-wise the Studio line up is much better then typical Inspirons. It offers 4GB DDR2 memory, 320gig storage, Blu-ray drive, HDMI, 8-in-1 card reader, external SATA, 3G Internet access from either Sprint or Verizon in the US, and 2.0mp webcam.
The Studio line up currently include two models -- Studio 15 (15") and Studio 17 (17"). Both of them are powered by Core 2 Duo processors and are equipped with basic Intel GMA X3100 chipset, but they can be customized with high-end graphics. The Studio 15 can be upgraded with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3450 (256MB), while the Studio 17 has the option of ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 (256MB).
As for operating system, you can choose between Windows Vista Home Premium and Ultimate.
The Studio 15 starts at $799, while the Studio 17 is available for $999.
