Dell displays 16-inch concept XPS laptop

dell_16inch-xps2.jpg Dell engineers are really working hard to outshine their rivals. After unveiling cool Crystal display Dell showcased a 16-inch concept XPS notebook at CES. The firm says movie buffs and videophiles are urged to check out a concept XPS laptop with a 16-inch 16:9 aspect display with full HD 1080p resolution. While most laptop available today feature a widescreen display, the true entertainment enthusiast knows that typical 14.1-, 15.4- and 17-inch notebook displays feature a 16:10 ratio versus the 16:9 aspect ratio used in most HDTVs. The most accurate representation of video content for select Blu-ray movies and digital TV is seen with a 16:9 display. When the source video is 16:9, the movie images will fill the entire 16-inch display with no letterboxing.

Notebook Review reports that the concept 16-inch laptop from Dell looks a lot like the Dell XPS M1530 at first glance, but it really is a non-standard 16-inch laptop.

Dell will also display a gaming desktop computer at CES. The XPS 630i is an entry-level gaming desktop, expected to be formally announced this spring with pricing and configuration details. While the XPS 630i is more compact than the powerhouse XPS 720 family, it won’t compromise on performance.
