Compal JHL, JHT series laptops unveiled

compal_jhl90.jpg Compal recently unveiled couple of new laptops under JHT and JHL Series. There are a total of four laptop, all with Intel Penryn (Centrino 2) running under their hood. The barebone JHT00 and JHT01 are 14.1" lappies while the JHL90 and JHL91 are 15.4" laptops. The JHT00 is a nice machine with the latest NVIDIA 9-Series graphics card GeForce 9300GS (256MB) and optional Blu-Ray drive. It sports a simple design except for special Shiny VHT (Vacuum Heat Transfer) coating on the cover to facilitate heat dissipation. In addition, it supports up to 4GB DDR2 memory, 250GB HDD, Intel Turbo Memory, 802.11a/g/n wireless, WiMAX, Bluetooth, and 1.3mp webcam.

Its sibling JHT01 is similarly specced except that it makes use of dual layer DVD burner (no Blu-ray), and offers integrated Intel GMA X4500 HD video card, so no luck for a dedicated graphics card.

THe 15.4" JHL90 is a true desktop replacement for mobile geeks with Intel's latest Penryn processor (1066MHz FSB) and NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT graphics card with 512MB memory. Also, the notebook boast of a Blu-ray drive and TV Tuner with remote control, meaning even media lovers will have fun on the road. What's more the notebook supports WiMAX and offers high-capacity 9 cell battery providing good operational autonomy. It provides 15.4" WSXGA + (1680 x 1050) anti-glare display, 2.0mp webcam, DDR2 RAM, and 250GB HDD.

The JHL91 also offers almost same specification except for Intel GMA 950 video card and 1.3mp cam.

No word on pricing and release date.
