Best Buy intros Next Class exclusive laptop line for students featuring HP, Toshiba, Sony, & Dell systems
Best Buy today introduced a new laptop line, exclusively designed for students. The Next Class notebook family is designed directly from customer insight, making them more useful for mainstream users. The new notebooks are created specifically to meet the everyday needs of college students and are manufactured in partnership with HP, Toshiba, Sony, & Dell, and is available exclusively at Best Buy stores nationwide and online now through fall.
These laptops are result of interaction between the Best Buy computing team and students to identify most desirable features.
Through interaction six characteristics emerged as key: Extended battery life; low weight and portable design for easy transport; personalized design, yet professional; full virus protection; preloaded with necessary software (specifically a full version of Office Home and Student); and an affordable price point.
The Best Buy team then took this input to a select group of PC manufacturers to help them deliver a new line that would meet the students’ expectations.
The Dell Studio 1440-022B, Toshiba Satellite M505-S4940, HP Pavilion DV4-1465DX, and Sony VGN-NW125J/T are customized student laptops with extended battery life of up to 3-6 hours, 5-6 pounds weight, 14-15.5” widescreen LCD, Microsoft Office Home & Student and 12-15 months of anti-virus protection.
The price of these laptops varies between $649.99 and $799.99.
