Averatec 1579 and 2371 notebooks coming May 11th
Averatec is planning to introduce two new ultra-portable notebooks in two weeks time. The 11.1-inch Averatec 1579 (pictured above) is based on 1.06GHz Intel Core Duo U2400 ultra low voltage processor and features 1366 x 768 resolution, glossy screen, 1GB RAM, 120GB hard drive, 802.11 a/b/g wireless, and Vista. It’ll sell for $1300. The 12.1-inch Averatec 2371 is an update to the currently available Averatec 2370. Most probably it’ll sport same specs as Averatec 2370 except Vista. The 2370 includes 1.6GHz AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-50 chip, 100GB hard drive, 1GB RAM, Nvidia 6100 graphics, dual layer DVD drive, 802.11b/g wireless, and XP Media Center Edition.
