• Asus U46 (14″) and U56 (15″) Notebooks Announced

    Asus has silently updated it U Series of notebooks with two new models — the Asus U46 and Asus U56. Both of them are powered by 2nd generation Intel Core family processors and sports an ultra-thin design which measures only an inch thick. Other features include discrete NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M graphics (1GB), USB 3.0, fast USB Charger+ for quick charging of devices and full-day battery life.


    The Asus U46 comes in two models — the Asus U46SV and Asus U46E. The only difference between the two is that the U46SV offer Intel GMA HD and GeForce GT 540M graphics, while the U46E only provide GMA HD graphics.
    Common features include Intel Core i5 2520M/2410M or Core i3 2310M processor, up to 8GB DDR3 memory, 750GB hard drive, 14.0″ 16:9 HD (1366×768) display, and Super-Multi DVD.
    Both of them also feature 0.3MP webcam, LAN, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, card reader, 1 USB 3.0, 2 USB 2.0, VGA, HDMI, and 4/8 cell battery.
    Operating system is Windows 7.
    Expect Asus U56 to offer similar specification except for a 15-inch widescreen display.
