Yes, you read it right. ASUS is soon going to come up with a touchscreen model of its Eee PC. No solid details here but it appears that Asus is planning to launch touch panel Eee PCs in the first quarter of 2009 to drive the sales further, if Samson Hu, general manager of Eee PC business at Asustek is to be believed. If things go right then you might get a glimpse of the Eee Touch during CES 2009.

There's two more interesting development regarding the Eee PC. First, as soon as Intel starts shipping dual core Atom processor you'll be able to customize the Eee PC with that dual-core Atom chip.

Also, the company will release a model priced less than $307 during 2009.
