Remember we’d told you about Apple updating its MacBook Air family? Well, yesterday at a media event Apple did just that. It not only updated its 13.3-inch MacBook Air, but also introduced a smaller machine under the same family with a 11.6-inch display. Interesting thing about these two MacBook Air is that they are very slim and light (as little as 2.3 pounds,). What’s more interesting is the fact that they only provide flash storage in the form of SSDs to deliver instant-on responsiveness, up to seven hours of battery life and up to 30 days of standby time. It is also reported that solid state flash storage makes laptop twice as fast as a hard drive based machine.

Specification include Intel Core 2 Duo processor, NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics, an 11.6-inch or 13.3-inch high-resolution LED-backlit display, Mini DisplayPort, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, and SD card slot (only in 13″ model).
MacBook Air features a full-sized keyboard, glass Multi-Touch trackpad, built-in FaceTime camera, mic and stereo speakers.
Both of them comes pre-loaded with Mac OS X Snow Leopard and iLife, Apple’s innovative suite of applications for creating and sharing great photos, movies and music. The new iLife ’11 features iPhoto, iMovie, and GarageBand.
The 1.4 GHz 11-inch MacBook Air with 2GB of memory and 64GB of flash storage starts at $999 with a 128GB model for $1,199. The 1.86 GHz 13-inch MacBook Air with 2GB of memory and 128GB of flash storage starts at a $1,299 with a 256GB model for $1,599.
