Apple iPad’s consumer friendly pricing gives nightmares to other manufacturers
![]()
The world expected Apple to price its iPad just under $1,000. But earlier this week Apple shocked the world and other manufacturers by keeping a starting price of only $499. In fact iPad’s consumer friendly pricing is currently giving nightmares to other manufacturers including ASUS and MSI. Both the firms had planned to sell their upcoming slate tablet at 20-30% less than Apple’s tablet — helping it snatch price conscious consumers.
But now as the Cupertino giant priced its tablet at only $499, they’re re-evaluating their strategies to counter Apple in its own game.
I am sure not only these Taiwanese companies, but mainstream American companies like HP and Dell would be having a tough time right now. Because just like everybody else even they would have expected Apple to sell its tablet for just under $1,000.
But now as iPad is only affordable it is to be seen how much market share does other firms capture.
