Acer Aspire 4930 and 6930 WiMAX-enabled laptops

acer_6930.jpg Yesterday it was Toshiba who grabbed the limelight by introducing the world's first WiMAX-enabled notebook computer; and today it was the world's third largest PC maker to announce its very own WiMAX lappies. According to Acer, the Aspire 4930-6862 and the Aspire 6930-6771 are launched in support of the nation’s first U.S. WiMAX wireless broadband network launched by XOHM in Baltimore. WiMAX is a flexible wireless broadband technology that has the ability to deliver rich data experiences for mobile users. WiMAX promises to be the highest performing mobile network in the United States with average downlink speeds of 2-4 Mbps and uplink rate of 1-2 Mbps.
