Most of the ultrabooks launched till date have 13-inch” or less displays, but now the second generation ultrabooks with larger 14″ and 15″ displays are on their way. In fact Acer has already placed orders for 15″ ultrabooks to Taiwan based Pegatron and is expecting a monthly shipments of 100,00 units.
What is even more interesting about Acer’s 15″ ultrabook is that it sports a fiberglasss chassis. There are two reasons for moving away from Aluminium chassis. One, Apple is eating away all of world’s notebook grade aluminium. Second, fiberglass reduces the final price of ultrabook.
Unfortunately there’s no word on specification, but one thing is for sure, it’ll be based on Intel’s Ivy Bridge processor.
Acer is planning to launch 15″ ultrabook with fiberglass chassis in April or May.
