NVIDIA ION 2 platform unveiled. Provides 10x graphics performance and battery life for netbooks
The much-hyped and anticipated ION 2 platform is finally here!!! NVIDIA today introduced the next-generation ION chipset. As we had reported earlier the new ION chipset provides 10 times graphics performance of current generation Intel platform based netbooks. Also thanks to NVIDIA Optimus technology, netbooks would offer up to 10 hours of battery life.
Basically the new-generation ION platform is a discrete GPU with 512MB of dedicated DDR3 memory.
So if you’re looking for an netbook to run high-def contents including movies, games (including World of Warcraft) and Internet-based video than make sure to buy an ION 2 based netbook!
In the coming days we’ll see a full bandwagon of products based on ION 2 including netbooks, nettops, small form factor desktops, etc.
