Toshiba Matsushita's 21-inch OLED display
Toshiba Matsushita has introduced an Organic Light-Emitting Diode display. The 20.8-inch screen is world's largest screen for polymer-type OLED display panels, claims the company. The display panel uses newly developed techniques for uniform coating of organic electroluminescent materials and the optimized combination of electrodes and organic materials. Panels which are designed for TV sets and monitors sports thinner profile due to the eliminated backlighting system and consumes less power than LCD displays.
It features 1,280×768 resolution, 16.7 million colors, and wide viewing angle. If you live in Tokyo then don't forget to visit TMD's booth at the 3rd International FPD Expo (Display 2007) on April 11-13 where they'll be showcasing the newly developed panel.
