This one is a little surprise to me because Philips has never shown too much interest in 3D displays. Today the company announced a 20-inch 3D display “designed to increase brand awareness and attention value of the product at point-of-sale locations”. It allows you to enjoy 3D effects without wearing those ugly glasses. The line up includes a frame-mount display (20-3D2W01) and a desktop version with bezel and stand (20-3D2W04). It’s based on Philips WOWvx technology and “helps professionals to create an amazing viewing experience using the latest technology to make content richer, more exciting, and more entertaining for the viewer so that it’s almost ‘real’.” It’ll be available from August 2007.
